Cost & Billing

Cost per Session

I charge $200 per session. Each session lasts about 55 minutes. Payment can be either in cash or by personal check. Very shortly I'll have a PayPal account where you can pay by credit card. Payment is typically due at the end of each session, though you can pay for future sessions at any time. You can also pay for another person, but you'll have to sign an agreement to that effect.

Audio Programs

Hypnosis audio programs are now available. The demonstration program is free. The others are offered at a nominal cost. Those who come in for a one-on-one session will typically receive such programs for free as a helpful supplement towards therapy. The audio programs may be a good idea for you if you're curious about hypnosis or if you want to try hypnotherapy but cannot afford individual sessions.

Insurance

I don't take insurance, or Medicare, or Medicaid. Doing so would involve a massive amount of time and paperwork. I've found that most of my clients either don't use it, don't request it, or would rather not share their mental health notes with the middle management of most health care corporations.

Coming Soon: Psych Assistant

A psychological assistant is a person who's getting his or her license to be a psychologist. The psych assistant will work under a licensed psychologist, who supervises the assistant's work. That's what I did, for 1,500 hours as a pre-doc and another 1,500 hours for my post-doc. Now that I have my license, it's on my agenda to find a supervisee, probably someone already familiar with Cognitive Behavior Therapy, who I'll train in hypnotherapy.

Once I have this psych assistant, his or her services will be at a reduced rate. So if you're looking for services I offer in the style I use but can't quite afford my rates, you may want to wait a little bit to see if my psych assistant is available. Most likely the assistant will be charging far less than I. Contact me, and I'll let you know if there are lower priced options .

For Referrals

As an additional option, if you’re on a tight budget, I can refer you to a less expensive therapist. I'm a hypnotist but also a psychologist and depending upon your needs, you may just want a hypnotherapist. There are some differences between the two. Although they are not licensed by the state, I know some hypnotherapists who do good work and who will keep your personal matters private & confidential.
